People’s Choice has been named as the best lender for first home buyers in three states – for the third year running.

Australia’s largest financial comparison site, Canstar, picked People’s Choice for the honour in South Australia, Victoria and the Northern Territory based on the variable and fixed rates offered along with the quality and breadth of products available to first home buyers.

People’s Choice Spokesperson Stuart Symons said the awards demonstrated that People’s Choice was doing much more than offering a loan.

“Lower interest rates and a slower property market may have given first home buyers some breathing space when looking for their first home, but we all know that entering the market can be very challenging,” he said.

“We believe these awards recognise that some institutions treat their work with first home buyers as a partnership rather than a transaction."

“We are proud to win them for the third time in the three states where our business is largest – but we are prouder still to have been able to help thousands of members buy their first home.”

Mr Symons said historically low rates were opening the door for many first home buyers, who could also benefit from a ferociously competitive market.

“First home buyers are in the driver’s seat with a wide range of suitable products from a large range of providers offering attractive deals,” he said.

“Do your homework – look beyond brokers and the Big Four banks for alternatives that will meet your needs while also offering some of the best rates in the market.”

People’s Choice was this year named Money magazine’s Personal Lender of the Year for the second year running, and has been named the Credit Union of the Year for the past three years in the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards.
