Taking the time to make sure you are adequately covered and knowing what's covered means you know where you stand in the event of a loss

    Are you adequately insured?

You may not be adequately insured if you have not reviewed your insurance each year, if you have made additions to your home and not updated your policy, if you have under-valued your home and contents, and if you have not considered the costs of rebuilding, demolition, and removal of debris.

By choosing one of People First Bank's building and/or contents insurance products, you could be covered for:

    • Removal of debris and demolition costs: these reasonable costs are paid in addition to the sum insured if your home suffers loss or damage (up to 10% of the building sum insured if you have building insurance and up to 10% on the contents sum insured if you have contents insurance).

    • Alternative accommodation costs: If you are unable to live in your home as a result of loss or damage caused by a covered event, you are covered for up to 12 months or when your home is repaired or replaced, whichever is earlier and are paid in addition to the sum insured (up to 10% of the building sum insured or 10% of the contents sum insured if you only have contents insurance).

    • Rebuilding fees: If you have buildings insurance, you are covered for the reasonable costs of employing an architect and any legal fees that arise from the rebuilding of your home after a covered event that causes loss or damage (up to 10% of the building sum insured).
