  • What is the People’s Choice SWIFT Code?

    The People’s Choice Swift Code is CUSCAU2SXXX. A SWIFT code is also known as a SWIFT- BIC or SWIFT ID and is usually required to receive funds from an overseas bank. Find more information at this link.
  • Are there restrictions on the amount of Foreign Currency I can bring into a country?

    Some countries impose restrictions on the import/export of local and foreign currencies. You should seek advice from an official government website for the country you may be visiting before placing your Foreign Currency order.
  • How long does it take to receive a Foreign Currency order?

    If ordering Foreign Currency in branch the order will usually take between 24-48 hours. Once the order has been received a branch staff member will contact you to arrange collection. If ordering Foreign Currency online the timeframe is dependent on the payment method. If paying by Visa Credit Card or Mastercard Debit Card, orders will be available to collect after a minimum of 3 business days from your selected branch. If the paying by BPAY, orders will be available after a minimum of 5 business days from your selected branch. You will also receive an email advising once your order has been dispatched and a staff member will contact you to arrange the collection of your order.
  • Is there a limit on how much foreign cash I can purchase?

    If ordering in branch the minimum order is $100 AUD equivalent, however the order must cover the associated commission fee. If ordering online all orders are subject to a minimum value of $500 AUD and a maximum value of $5,000 AUD over a 24 hour period. Travelex also have a maximum value of $20,000 AUD over a rolling 21-day period. All online orders irrespective of the amount require photo identification and for in-branch, orders over $1,000 AUD equivalent require photo identification.
  • What if I don't know the Beneficiary Bank details for International Money Transfers?

    You can use the ‘Find a Bank’ feature in the Internet Banking and Mobile Banking App to confirm the Beneficiary Bank details. You can search by entering in the Bank Name, or other partial bank details you may have, this will then provide you with the complete details for the Bank if available. It is important to ensure you are validating the details against what the Beneficiary has.
  • What if my International Money Transfer payment hasn't been received by the Beneficiary?

    There are different reasons why your payment may not have been received, including that it's still being processed or you have entered incorrect details, such as IBAN, Account Number or Beneficiary details. Incorrect details may result in the payment being rejected by the overseas bank or deposited into an unintended person's account that matches the details. If you believe that the payment has been sent incorrectly, please contact People’s Choice on 13 11 82.
  • What if I can't find the relevant field to enter parts of the Beneficiary information I have? E.g. I have been given a BIC Code and I can't see a field titled that?

    A SWIFT code (also known as a SWIFT- BIC or SWIFT ID) is a standard format for identifying banks. It is 8 or 11 digits long. A bank code comes in various different forms and is similar to the BSB number used here in Australia.
  • What is IBAN?

    Some countries have a requirement that IBAN's are mandatory, while others have it as a preferred method of recording the customer's bank account number. Please ensure to confirm all beneficiary details including IBAN if required.
  • What is a Beneficiary?

    A Beneficiary is the person overseas that you are sending money to and may also be referred to as the Payee.
  • Why do I need to supply a Purpose of Payment?

    A Purpose of Payment explains the reason for the transfer, i.e. Tax Invoice, Goods or Services, Gift etc. Each country has its own policies, legislation and requirements for receiving money and in some cases you may be asked to provide further details.
